ATWELL COLLEGE ZONE ART EXHIBITION
On Tuesday 2nd November a selection of works created by primary to year 9 visual art students from Atwell College and Harmony, Jandakot & Success Primary Schools were exhibited at Atwell College. Established artist Peteris Ciemitis who recently won the Black Swan Art Award and two time finalist in the Archibald Prize was the guest speaker.
A large number of community members attended the opening, which included family members from Harmony Primary School. Art classes walked up to the College during the week to view and critique the works and this also gave them an opportunity to see work from other schools in the community. The feedback from parents staff and students was very positive.
The exhibition helped create a sense of community and an awareness of the importance of arts in society. Thanks to everyone who came along on the night to make the night a success.
